Mr. Wright uses strategies that are considered best practices when it is possible, but is not afraid to call upon the internal spirit to move
ahead in doing what is right to assure equity for every child in America providing them the opportunity to participate in a global society. He
has done post-graduate work in Educational Leadership at the University of Washington and the University of Sarasota. Wright has
received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Puget Sound and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and
Sociology from St. Martin’s College in Olympia, Washington.

Mr. Wright’s career span includes Counselor in Juvenile Institutions, Juvenile Services Parole Officer, Co-founder and Manager of the
Parole Learning Center, The Career Intern Program, Director of Student Services and Student Placement for two different post secondary
institutions. He has been a youth and high school coach for both boys and girls sports. He has served in administration for Seattle Public
Schools for the past ten years with the last four years serving as Principal for the Thurgood Marshall Elementary School from which he
was chosen as Distinguished Principal of The Year for Washington State in 2003.

Mr. Wright has presented workshops all across the country on the issues of equity, and School Transformation. He is considered one of
the top people in the field of education leadership, and specializes in the following areas:

Ben Wright has over 35
years experience working to
effect change and equity in
public education systems. He
has worked as a teacher and
administrator at the
elementary, middle and high
school, voc-tech, and
community college levels and
pioneered the effective use of
single-sex instruction. He
holds a Masters degree in
Public Administration from the
University of Puget Sound.
Wright has also served as an
adjunct Professor at the
University of Washington’s
School of Education.
